SEEKING APPLICANTS ONTARIO CITY CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE ESATEWAY TO ASVENTURE 1884- The City of Ontario is requesting letters of interest from residents of the City of Ontario to sit on an Ad-Hoc City Charter Committee to review and propose changes to the Ontario City Charter, which has not been amended since 1985. The goal is to have the amended Charter on the ballot in November, 2021. The committee will be comprised of four citizens at large and three City Councilors. The group will begin meeting in March, 2021, with a proposal before the City Council by July 20, 2021. These positions are voluntary, appointments will be made by the Ontario City Council, and will become effective immediately upon appointment. Applicants must be a resident within the city limits of Ontario and be a registered voter. A majority of the meetings will be conducted virtually, and applicants must be willing to commit to meeting a least two hours every other week from March to July, 2021. The city requires submission of an application for appointment, which can be found on the city's website, from the City Hall front reception desk, or by contacting City Hall at 541-881- 3200 to request one be mailed.
