The Idaho Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (IOGCC) is holding a public hearing and THIS AFFECTS YOU! Federal Judge han nued that the loGCC and Idaho Department af Lands DL, AND GAS INDUSTRY IS STILL TO LIMIT PUBLIc FACT: Alta Mesa (a Texas-based oil and gascompany) has FORCED homeowners in Payette Co. to lease and is drilling under or near their property in rural land AND in subdivisions FACT: Many property owners report they objected to being forced to allow drilling under their homes and the taking of their oil and gas against their will but felt they had no way out when pressured by landmen FACT: Many Payette County property owners report they were not notified of the upcoming April 23 2019 IOGCC meeting and of their opportunity to have input. FACT: Alta Mesa has already pumped acid and other hazardous chemicals into the ground to stimulate production in Payette County WITHOUT THE PROPER PERMIT and fees, WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE PUBLIC, and without registering the chemicals used on the website Fracfocus as required by Idaho law. FACT: Regulators allowed Alta Mesa to negotiate their fine for this violation down to less than half the proposed amount and let them submit their application for permit and public notification of the acid job 9 MONTHS AFTER they had already carried out the operation! FACT: This affects us all: our water, our air, our property values, our homeowners insurance, our health and safety, our way of life! Are you disappointed in the way the oil and gas industry has been allowed to operate in Idaho? Do you expect "just and reasonable treatment by your public officials and industry representatives? Then come let your voice be heard! On April 23 the l0GCC will take public testimony on how it should establish the rules that are supposed to protect your property rights They need to know that as Idahoans we value our property rights, our health and safety, and the legacy that we leave our children. Please come to the public hearing on Tuesday, April 23rd at 1:00 pm in the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, room EW42.
